Hola, I'm Cynthia!

I'm a full stack and AI engineer based in Toronto, Canada. I build AI tools and automations, and the web apps around them. Most recently I shipped features to production as a front-end developer co-op at the City of Toronto.

About Me

✦

Who I Am

My favourite moment of the day is watching the sunset through my window after a long one. I'm 22, from Ecuador, building a life in Toronto. By day I'm finishing my last semester at Seneca; by night I'm building side projects, filming content, and writing songs.

I'm very curious. I like to know why things work, not just how, whether it's a system, a feeling, or the universe. I also share my journey in tech and as an international student on Instagram (@cynthias.dev).

Outside of tech, I'm the kind of person who loves nature. Running on a trail, hiking, or just a park with friends are my best plans. I love craft, painting, music, anything that has to do with art and expression.

My main ambition is freedom: to create things I'm proud of, build financial stability, keep growing, and live a life I truly enjoy, close to people I genuinely connect with. Through my work, I want to make people's lives better through the experiences I design, and easier through the automations I build. If it solves a real problem for someone, that's the whole point.

Now

Updated October 2026

Focusing on building products that integrate AI, and on the whole loop around them: spotting a problem, understanding the people who have it, deciding what to build, and shipping something that makes their life a little better or easier. Alongside that, going deeper on system design and AI engineering.

Mental Click · AI Study Tool

Paste your notes and walk each concept through the three steps I use to actually understand something: the concept, a mental model, and a real use case. Every card must quote your notes word for word, and the server checks the quote, so you can see when the model made something up. The prompt was developed against automated checks, not vibes.

Message Notification Router

Decides whether a WhatsApp message should notify you, wait for a digest, or stay muted. Safety rules catch scams and prompt injection first, and Gemini only handles the ambiguous cases, using retrieval over your similar past messages. I wrote the evaluators before tuning: the rules alone matched the model at 93.3%, so the LLM only takes what rules can't decide.

Idea Angles Pipeline

The system behind my content. I capture a raw idea from the terminal or Telegram, Gemini scores it against my brand and writes short-form angles, and they land in Notion for me to approve. AI suggests, I decide. Modules share a blackboard store instead of importing each other, and it runs every day across my machine, GitHub Actions, and a GCP VM.

Stateless Geospatial Connection Map

Architected a no-backend React 19 SPA that encodes geospatial data into LZ-string compressed URL parameters for scalable shareable state. Built a distance-based GSAP + Leaflet animation pipeline with client-side Vercel Analytics for performance monitoring.

3D Imagineer · Full-Stack E-Commerce

A Node.js/Express/MongoDB store with role-based access control and a two-tier recommendation engine: Gemini 2.5 Flash reasons over the catalog, and a category-matching fallback keeps suggestions rendering when the API is unavailable. Demo accounts for both roles are in the README.

Client-Side Suggestion Engine

Built and deployed a React 19 + Vite SPA that filters a 500+ record tagged dataset on two axes and returns one suggestion instead of a list. Composes a shareable photo card to canvas with html2canvas, fully client-side, covered by 30 React Testing Library tests.

My Philosophy

I believe in the harmony of creativity and logic, where bold ideas meet clear structure, and art meets engineering.

  • Every project starts with a curious question and a clear goal.
  • I value clarity, precision, and efficiency, from how I write code to how I shape the user experience.
  • I connect ideas and people by building solutions that feel as good as they perform.
  • Design is never an afterthought. I treat visual craft as seriously as technical craft.
